What happens to a car when it goes the junk yard?

I had sold my 1985 Chevy S10 Blazer to a junk yard in Houston Texas in 2001 or 2002. I need to know if I can get like a paper copy saying that the vechicle was destroy. Do the junk yards keep track and can they provide me with that information? I have the original title with me but I need something say it was destroy or salvage. Please advise

when any car goes to a junk yard it siting there an dpeople buy parts from it til its down to where its only a shell many times might be there for a few yrs some cases its smash right a way depending on model and year and really its been that long not likely in the computor or still on the books there but you can alway call them and ask
