1993 Plymouth Sundance Duster 4-spd auto Transmission whines/doesn't move 3.0l v6?

It's a 1993 Sundance Duster, 3.0l V6, 4spd auto, I believe it's the A670, anyway, when put into any gear, it doesn't move unless you rev the engine up alot, then it clunks into gear as it idles down and whines pretty loud. It has fluid in it, I haven't changed it since I bought it a few months ago. I know about not using Dexron and all that. It doesn't leak any fluid. Is the ****** shot? If it is, and I can find one at a junk yard with low miles on it, what other vehicles used that ******? Could I use, say an A670 out of a Caravan? i own a repair shop,and if its doing that its pretty well shot ,it will have to have one out of a car to go back in it the ones in the vans are a little different,a good used one from a junk yard will be good if you can find one that has low mileage on it,it should cost around 250- 350 or a good used one,i wouldn't pay no more than that for one good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

Have you removed the transmission pan, and replaced the transmission screen? Do that, and if it doesn't help, you need transmission specialists.
The cure that I've proposed is cheap, and I expect that it will fix your car. Let me know!

Well you have suffered the fate of the Chrysler automatic transmission. It very well could be needing a rebuild. According to Wikipedia.org the transmission is an A604 but regardless if you can find another Sundance or Shadow with the same powertrain set-up then grab it. As far as the minivans are concerned, check it out as well. This just in: the transmission you were talking about, the A670 is a three speed used with the 2.6L Mitsu. engine
